A FEW NOTES ABOUT welcome home's:
welcome homes are some of my favorite sessions! I love them because they capture such a sweet, peaceful, and unique time! Babes change so quickly, so its really special to be able to preserve those first few days of their life. capturing these moments in home also add to your unique and authentic family story and allow more options than fresh 48s (more space and multiple rooms).
How does scheduling welcome homes work?
We will schedule for any time 4 weeks after your due date. You will just need to keep in touch with me on updates when when you have arrived home in the chance we need to reschedule due to early or late arrival. i need atleast a months advance for scheduling welcome home photos.
Here's some tips below that I've learned to capture the best pictures as possible!
How to prepare the room(s)
Declutter as much as possible! This allows for me to move around easily and also makes the pictures look cleaner!
ideal rooms to shoot are: nursery, living-room, master bed, and backyard/porch if desired
Lighting: taking advantage of the natural brightness as much as possible is ideal (another reason why I like doing these sessions during the bright part of the day). pleas open the curtains and shades in the rooms we will be photographing in before arrival
Warmth: Baby is sooo much happier in a warm environment. Feel free to crank up the AC. This allows for babe to be comfortable for any naked pictures.

Timing: The best time for welcome home sessions are when the sun its at its highest, and I prefer 11am -1 pm. It usually gives the best light! I realize sometimes this time frame is not always possible, so I will do my best to work with whatever time works for your family and babe.
Feeding
Its best to try and feed baby before I arrive. This hopefully means baby will be happy and calm for pics! If you would like any feeding/nursing pictures, we absolutely can do this at the beginning of the session…so hold off feeding babe until I get there and we’ll get some feeding/nursing pics done first! Just let me know ahead of time. if we need to take time during shoot to feed that is more than okay!

What to wear
What to wear? i like to suggest comfy and flowey maxi dresses during the spring/summer, and maybe jeans and a cozy sweater during the winter for mom. i suggest starting with mom first then coordinating the babe and siblings/family. neutral colors is suggested, but if you desire color i suggest no more than 3 and stick to earthy/ muted tones (no neon).
Embracing the environment: also consider the color of your home for coordination as well
